I am a wife, mother, and workaholic math teacher. If I had my way, I’d love to be an assistant principal, professional organizer, “Martha Stewart / Pioneer Woman” type superwoman. Basically, I want to do it all and have it all! Even though I want to do it all, I have come to realize that it is better to do a few things well rather than all things sub-par.
My husband and I live in a modest 1970’s ranch house on a 0.33-acre wooded lot in a small town north of a major metropolitan city. I love living in the country! Well, it’s not truly way out in the country, but it’s as close to it without owning a huge parcel of land. The streets are busy during the holidays, but I love being able to drive clear across town in about 10-15 minutes.
Parenting and working full time does not leave a lot of free time for us as a couple or quiet time for just myself. Our idea of a “date” is getting up at o-dark-thirty on Saturday mornings, grabbing some coffee, grocery shopping, and running errands with no children in tow. It’s not glamorous, but it is our time together. It’s our time to recharge, reconnect and communicate with each other each week with no exceptions.
This is my journey. A journey of balancing finances, wellness, life-work, relationships, and following dreams. Thank you for following me and my family on a meaningful journey together in getting the most out of life.
